Gorgeous & bizarre lingerie at Victoria’s Secret’s show

Like its previous seasons, the just-aired Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2013 on CBS television network once again offered a heady concoction of some gorgeous and some outlandishly bizarre lingerie pieces.

The event sent its winged angels down on the runway in designs created under six themes- British Invasion, Birds of Paradise, Parisian Nights, Shipwrecked, Snow Angels and Pink Network.

The eye-catching outfits shown on the show were model Karlie Kloss’ very on-trend shocking pink outfit, replete with vibrantly-colored wings and Erin Heatherton’s intricately woven, red inside and pink outside feathered cape.

One of the most beautiful ensembles on the runway was model Lindsay Ellingson’s 3D-printed shimmery wings dress, which the innerwear maker created in collaboration with the 3D printing marketplace Shapeways, architect Bradley Rothenberg and Swarovski. The dress featured a sequence of entwined snowflakes gathered into a unique geometric shape that when combined creates a 3D printing effect.

The show also featured slightly quirky pieces like emoticon printed sweatpants and cropped tops as well as some kids’ clothing-inspired pieces.

Victoria’s Secret Angel Candice Swanepoel was this year’s lucky wearer of the show’s major attraction—the Fantasy Bra. Priced somewhere around US$ 10 billion, the bejeweled ensemble was lavishly studded with gems and a giant ruby.

Teen Icon Selena Gomez Unveils New Apparel Collection

Well known teen icon Selena Gomez has introduced new apparel collection ‘Dream Out Loud’ for her younger fans at Kmart, a discount retail store in the US.

Former Disney star’s teen fashion clothing line includes jeans, tops, skirts, hats, jackets as well as handbags and accessories.

As part of the publicity campaign, the Hollywood actress has made several public appearances in her newly designed wardrobe collection.

Selena Maria Gomez is best known for portraying Alex Russo in the Emmy Award-winning Disney channel television series ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’.

Kmart was founded in 1962 and it is the third largest discount store chain in the world, after ‘Walmart’ and ‘Target’.

London to host Global Kids Fashion Week Next Year

The first Global Kids Fashion Week to be held in London in March 2013 would host several ramp shows, performances, dialogues and such other activities mainly focusing on high-end kid’s fashion.

The event, which would mark the completion of the fashion week season in the UK, would host two main shows – first, a showcase of latest autumn/winter 2013 collections by world’s leading brands and second, a charity event in support of charity Kids Company, where the company would showcase its own spring/summer 2013 collection.

While the first event would be open only to media, the second event to be held under the aegis of premium childrenswear e-tailer alexandalexa.com would be a ticketed show entertaining entry of public at large. The sum raised from this second show would be utilized to help the underprivileged children of UK.

The fashion week to be held simultaneously with similar events in the USA, Middle East and Australia, will be unique as it would be open to public.

Kids and their parents would also get a chance to view a performance from London’s Children Ballet and to participate in workshops by the V&A Museum of Childhood.

Cavalli unveils Target Australia Collection

Roberto Cavalli personally launched his signature Designer for Target collection in Sydney. This was his first official visit to Australia.

The capsule collection captures Roberto Cavalli’s iconic style with animal prints and beautiful embellishments. The collection showcases a variety of styles including casual day wear, glamorous party pieces, footwear and furthermore it is the first international ‘Designers for Target’ collection to feature swimwear.

The glamorous advertising campaign, shot by leading fashion photographer Giampaolo Sgura features supermodel, Karolina Kurkova.

Target + Neiman Marcus Holiday Collection to hit ‘Revenge’

Following months of anticipation, Target Corp. and Neiman Marcus unveiled their unprecedented holiday collection. The collection, which features 24 of America’s preeminent designers—all members of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA)—will be available Dec. 1 at all Target and Neiman Marcus stores, as well as online at Target.com and NeimanMarcus.com. In recognition of the 24 designers who created products for the holiday collection, Target and Neiman Marcus are donating a total of $1 million to the CFDA.

“The excitement surrounding the Target + Neiman Marcus Holiday Collection has been remarkable, and the anticipation continues to build,” said Wanda Gierhart, chief marketing officer, The Neiman Marcus Group. “We have all been waiting for the day when we could finally share and see the collection in its entirety. I suspect that our customers are counting the days until they can shop it, too!”

To accommodate anticipated demand, Target and Neiman Marcus will limit purchase quantities of the limited-edition collection and apply a shortened return policy. Guests can purchase up to five of the same item per transaction at Target and Neiman Marcus stores, and online at Target.com and NeimanMarcus.com. All returns must be made to the retailer where the product was purchased by Jan. 5, 2013.

Ground-Breaking Partnership with ABC

In addition to unveiling their holiday collection, Target and Neiman Marcus also shared exclusive details about their ground-breaking partnership with ABC. Through a first-of-its-kind integration, Target and Neiman Marcus will be the sole sponsors of an upcoming episode of “Revenge,” ABC’s fan-favorite series, airing Sunday, Nov. 11 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. In lieu of broadcast commercials, the retailers announced they are working directly with the creative team of “Revenge,” a series known for its flair for fashion and high style, to create original content incorporating the Target + Neiman Marcus Holiday Collection, which will air throughout the November sweeps episode of the hit show.

“The scale of our partnership with Neiman Marcus propelled us to go well beyond the traditional approach and develop marketing initiatives that reflect the historic nature of this collaboration,” said Jeff Jones, chief marketing officer and executive vice president, Target. “Working with the team at ABC has been invigorating.
