FAB TO TEAM UP WITH LENNY LETTER ON EXCLUSIVE COLLECTION

Fab, the ecommerce destination for design, is excited to announce a collaboration with Lenny Letter, a lifestyle newsletter by Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner.  Lenny and Fab have partnered to turn eight of the eye-catching, provocative illustrations from their weekly newsletter into products on Fab. The pieces will be featured exclusively on Fab for one month, launching May 31st. Each art print will be available in multiple sizes (framed and unframed); the illustrations will also appear on products such as totes and mugs.

With this partnership, Fab is placing Lenny’s unapologetically feminist and topical artwork front and center, dismantling the patriarchy one tote bag at a time. Standouts in the exclusive collection include the “Pop Vanity” tote by Kristin Liu, the “Barbie Bouquet” print by Louise Richardson, and the “Selfie Hero” mug by Gel Jamlang. All of the work fits right in to Fab’s colorful, bold collection of products.

LEHIGH VALLEY FASHION WEEK REVIEW

Fashion Avenue News, The First Lady of Fashion, Sofia Davis along with Managing Partner, Allison V. Brown had the great opportunity to attend Lehigh Valley Fashion Week.  The event was sponsored in part by the Holiday Inn.  The show was presented in the Grand Ballroom, which held a good number of people.

The show had something for everyone.  There were Straight Size Models, Plus Size Models, Petite Models and Children Models.  Their front row was filled with all types of Press/Media celebrities, The First Lady of Fashion (like the Facebook page) Sofia Davis, Editor-in-Chief of Fashion Avenue & Model World Magazine sat front and center with i-Fashion’s Editor-in-Chief, Lloyd Crawford, along with Donna Michelle Franklin, Editor-in-Chief of DMochelle Fashion Magazine.  Celebrity photographer, Allison V. Brown, known for his amazing covers/editorials such as Germany’s next Top Model, Alek Wek and Vivica Fox (to name a few) had his camera in full swing to capture the sensational images on the runway; there was Bro Michael Cox, capturing beautiful images on and off the runway.

The designers did not disappoint, if you wanted a show, you were in the right place, from sexy bell bottom pants with polka dot flair inserts to striking plus size, hip hugging, body shaping gowns.  There was fabulousity everywhere.  The models did a great job on the runway, short, tall, plus and all, were AMAZING DARLING….

Lehigh Valley Fashion Week highlighted the Future of Fashion, Designer Justin Orlick, Mojo-fashion, Just B U, along with Faces by Fre, Facing the World… Beautifully (Makeup Artistry), and handling your business with BW Nice – Business Women Networking.  Model Camryn Uhlig, was in the spotlight as the Model – Model Citizen, gracing the event magazine cover, she is stunning.  Wearable Art Designs were from Kellosophy – www.kellosophy.etsy.com – she had great pieces, something you may want in your treasure chest.

The beautiful Winsome Condra, Marketing/Press did a superb job.  She navigated the Press, secured seating, and took care of her 11 week old son without skipping a beat.  I have renamed her “SUPERWOMAN”.

Lehigh Valley Fashion Week is an organization highlighting the fashion industry in the area.  Our Fashion Weeks consist of fashion shows at malls, boutiques, and other venues around the Lehigh Valley.  Fashion Weeks  are celebrated around the globe and has been proven to be the number one medium for presenting the work of fashion designers and other fashion-oriented crafts.

The SuperModel competition is BACK in Raleigh North Carolina, produced by Vogue Modeling Executive Director Katherine Neal.

The SuperModel competition, started a few years back, reels in a host of celebrity guest and participants.  Model World Magazine, Editor-in-Chief, Sofia Davis is one that loves the event.  “This is a great event to give emerging fashion talent a platform.”  The other area of the event that is so important is the fashion seminars that are taught there.  It helps new models navigate the industry and more experienced models sharpen their craft.  The event takes place June 19th in North Carolina and has many models signed up.

Katherine Neal has a long history in the Fashion Industry producing excellent events.  This is a “You Don’t Want To Miss This” showcase of Emerging & Established Fashion Industry Talent.

FASHION AVENUE NEWS SHOOTS SWIMSUIT ISSUE AT SUGAR BEACH ON THE BEAUTIFUL ISLAND OF ST. LUCIA

We are excited to be invited by Joycie Mederick of Cinnamon Productions to cover the Hot Couture Fashion Show as well as shoot our legendary SwimWear Issue at the Sugar Beach Resort in St. Lucia.

This is the location that Matt Damon from Oceans 12 got married. George Clooney and the rest of the cast stayed.….DARLING…. and we are Over The Moon to be able to utilize this luxury resort.

The Fashion Avenue News Team consist of Celebrity Photographer and Managing Partner, Allison V. Brown.  Allison will direct the SwimWear shoot and scout the ideal locations at the Sugar Beach.  Paul Walker, known for capturing that right photo at any event or runway show, will work closely with the models, getting that photo just right.   Dwight Eubanks, Styling Director for Fashion Avenue News magazine, will make sure everything comes together……FABULOUSLY…….

Editor-in-Chief, Sofia Davis will, of course, be Networking to build a Fashion Bridge between St. Lucia and New York City.  The goal is to develop Fashion Avenue News Magazine – St. Lucia, and we start with the SwimWear issue.

We look forward to a long term Fashion Relationship with the island of St. Lucia and Joycie Mederick of Cinnamon Productions.

China Beauty Expo Cements its Position in the Beauty Industry

China Beauty Expo (CBE), Asia’s leading beauty trade, recently concluded its 20th edition on a high note, reinforcing its status as the definitive exhibition for the market.

2,120 (an increase of 15% from 2014) suppliers from all over the world, including Cheislie Formulations, Jala, L’oreal, P&G and Reef Cosmetics, Shanghai Jahwa, showcased the latest beauty and cosmetics innovations during the three-day event.  This year’s event occupied over 150,000 sqm (an increase of more than 20% from 2014) of exhibition space.

Held in Shanghai New International Expo Center from 19 to 21 May 2015, CBE registered a total of 312,000 visits from trade professionals from across the region, which represented a 14% increase compared to 2014. This year, a large proportion of visitors were senior decision-makers, including executives from companies such as SASA, Sephora, Watsons and a number of leading distributor Claudia BONFIGLIOLI, International Director, Informa Beauty and Informa Baiwen (CBE), said, “The global beauty market has been projected to reach new heights, with Asia continuing to lead the global market in the years ahead. The show is well poised to support the industry’s growth, and we look forward to bringing more of the industry together to help them realize the full potential that the market possesses.”

Professional Trade Event

Exhibitors at this year’s event were pleased with their decision to participate, citing the show’s audience, the focus on doing business, and its level of professionalism as key benefits. In addition, returning exhibitors found the show had grown in stature, not just in terms of attendance but also with the addition of new visitor attractions, such as the WeChat Conference and CBE-Beyond Beauty Trends Conference.

Having received critical acclaims from participants all around, the next edition of CBE looks set to be a bigger and stronger business platform as the organizers, Informa and Shanghai Baiwen, are committed to serve the global beauty industry with this event in the years ahead.
