Ahead of the release of the hotly anticipated second Hunger Games franchise series ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’, the world’s premiere online luxury shopping destination Net-A-Porter is launching a brand new fashion collection on November 21, 2013.
Inspired from the looks of the movie’s teenage protagonist Katniss Everdeen, the clothing line titled Capital Couture has been named after the fictional online fashion magazine, set within the movie’s imaginary world of Panem.
Designed by the upcoming American film’s multi-award winning costume designer Trish Summerville, the wearable 19-piece range is replete with leather, sports and cocktail wear ensembles like metallic laser-cut dresses, bomber jackets, silk jumpsuits and T-shirts with slogans.
Set to release on November 22, 2013, ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ will see costumes crafted by some of the most innovative designers of the world, such as the Indonesian talent Tex Saverio, who has created a white frothy wedding gown for Katniss (played by Jennifer Lawrence).
Korean designer Juun J has designed outfits for Josh Hutcherson’s character Peeta and Elizabeth Banks’ onscreen avatar Effie Trinket will be seen in several theatrical gowns, from the house of Alexander McQueen, in the film.
The movie’s official designer Summerville has been recently honoured with the Costume Designer of the Year title at the 10th annual Style Awards. She has also won the Costumer Designer’s Guild Award for her work on director David Fincher’s 2011 film ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’.
Launched in 2000, Net-a-Porter offers a range of latest women’s designer clothing and accessories from over 350 international labels.
The Hunger Games movie series is based on the young adult science-fiction adventure novel trilogy ‘The Hunger Games’, written by Suzanne Collins.
