Since 2002, Swarovski has been adding sparkling glamour to the celebrated catwalk extravaganza, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, by exclusively providing the lavish crystals that adorn the costumes, jewelry, accessories and footwear by Nicholas Kirkwood.
This year, 20 eye-popping, custom creations will be modeled by some of Victoria’s Secrets’ most famous Angels, including Lily Aldridge, Alessandra Ambrosio, Karlie Kloss, Doutzen Kroes, Adriana Lima, Behati Prinsloo, and Candice Swanepoel.
With the bar set higher every year, the 2013 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show will, for the first time, look to the future with the sparkling Swarovski costume created using 3D printing. This innovative process has brought about a paradigm shift that has changed the way the world thinks about design, pushing the boundaries of manufacturing beyond the imagination.
Renowned for being at the forefront of innovation, Swarovski, together with Victoria’s Secret, has incorporated this technology in an incredible high-tech costume that will be seen in the breathtaking Snow Angel section of the show. Designed by architect Bradley Rothenberg in conjunction with world-leading 3D printing company, Shapeways, the costume was made to precisely fit Lindsay Ellingson from a 3D scan of her form.
Next, 3D computer printing technology was used to create the geometric filigree characteristics of the design’s snowflake motif that will be encrusted with millions of illuminating Swarovski crystals.
Swarovski not only dazzles on the runway, but also in-store. In addition to the spectacular creations specially made for the show, exquisite lingerie from the Victoria’s Secret Designer Collection.
