Parsons The New School for Design is one of the most distinguished colleges for Design in the United States and in the world. Parsons helped launch many famous designers as Donna Karan, Marc Jacobs, Tom Ford, Narciso Rodriguez just to cite a few. The students are stimulated to be creative and find their own identity building along the course their own style. Parsons allow people to be themselves; they just help them to polish their talents and guide in the best way possible.

Every year a graduate Fashion Show is presented to the public, the graduates of 2013 presented a fall collection on Chelsea Piers. The collection showed was clearly inspired by New York City, mixing urban sportswear with sophisticated structured outfits. Architectural minimalism and ethnical elements composed the enchanting collection. Accessories collaborated to give the edgy urban feeling with caps, colorful beanies, headphones, oversized clutches and backpacks very utilitarian and contemporary. The collection conveyed the quality and the sartorial excellence that Parsons are known for.

The event had also the illustrious presence of the fashion designer for Armani Exchange who graduated at Parsons in 1989. Patrick spoke about the ups and downs in his career and the importance of keeping balance in rocky moments and passion for what you do. He advices the graduates to be fearless and go for what they want. Patrick stated that someone who never failed or is afraid of it, can never be successful because the failures teach and push you to success.
