The Makeup Show NYC, which took place May 5 and 6, at Metropolitan Pavilion closes with record breaking numbers and continues to be the largest pro-driven beauty event in the world. In its 8th year, The Makeup Show NYC brought together nearly 7,000 attendees, a 20% increase over 2011’s landmark numbers. Pro artists joined together for this rare weekend where they found an array of color and cosmetics in every corner, could shop at more than 85 beauty brands and be inspired from nearly 50 keynote speakers and seminars.

The Makeup Show NYC Highlights
The Makeup Show NYC kicked off on the evening of Saturday, May 4 with an opening party that celebrated curated artwork and live model makeup applications by some of the top beauty brands in the business. The evening kick off also paid tribute with a photo slideshow to Wojciech Inglot, founder of Inglot Cosmetics who was an industry visionary and inspiration to many.
The Makeup Show NYC featured over 85 top beauty brands including Diamond Sponsor MAKE UP FOR EVER, Platinum Sponsor Crown Brush and Temptu PRO, Silver Sponsor NARS, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics, Stila Supporting Sponsors Smashbox, INGLOT Cosmetics, Alcone Company, The Powder Group and On Makeup Magazine.
Makeup Artists stocked their kits with the newest products and brands on the market. Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics, MAKE UP FOR EVER, INGLOT, London Brush Company, Mehron, and Embryolisse USA each debuted new products exclusively at The Makeup Show NYC.
Some of the best makeup artists in the industry took main stage to bring a flood of inspiration over the pro-community, including Dick Page, Pati Dubroff, Brook Wall, Gina Brooke, Brigitte Reiss-Andersen, and Mathu Andersen. Makeup Artists also joined social media experts from Gorgeous in Grey, Beautylish, The Makeup Girl, and This That Beauty to learn about how they can use the Internet and social media to build their artistry business and take it to the next level.
Hands-On Workshops quickly sold-out. These classes allowed a limited number of artists to be a part of intense learning with some of the largest names in the industry. A few of the educators that coached the artists and critiqued them in an intimate setting included makeup artists Jon Hennessey, Esterique Aiden, and Orlando Santiago.
