Anouk Wipprecht, the techno-couture designer from Netherlands, has come up with yet another quirky garment called Robotic Spider Dress in collaboration with Austrian software developer Daniel Schatzmayr.
Famous for creating convention defying ensembles, the designer’s latest invention features a dress with sensor-installed spider like legs, which move if a stranger strays too close to the wearer’s body.
The queer outfit was first showcased at VIVE LE ROBOTS / Cafe Neue Romance in Prague, the capital and largest city of the Czech Republic, during the EU Robotics week in November 2012.
Wipprecht, whose fashion-tech garments have been favoured by the likes of Fergie from the famous American hip hop group ‘The Black Eyed Peas’, has earlier designed an Intimacy dress, which can turn from opaque to transparent in response to the wearer’s level of arousal, measured by the heart rate.
