Dennis Basso was all Hollywood Glamour with beautiful gold-leaf piping, fringe, ostrich feathers, bead embroidery. Fabrics were organza, crinoline layered, silk, and chiffon. Dennis Basso let everyone know the handwork was done in Long Island City. This collection was Elegance at its BEST. Bravo!!!!
Dennis Basso’s main inspiration came from the glamorous seaside resort of Deauville, France, where the finest families and high society gathered each spring and summer. Often called The Riviera of Paris, the 60’s were a special time at this fabled resort; when women always dressed for dinner and each evening was truly gala. The color palette of the collection reflected the sea and the night sky: blush, champagne, pearl, shades of blue and sheer black with gold metallic accents.
Hair design was handled by John Barrett, and makeup by Kabuki alongside a team from Sephora. Shoes accompanying the looks were in collaboration with Pour La Victoire, and jewelry provided by Jane Berg for J & Y Rocks.
